The post holder is responsible to provide support to the country office but in addition to her/his area of focus, there are jobs with country wide in nature, like managing the monthly and bi-monthly cash forecasts, payroll deductions preparations and its reconciliations, ensuring staffs under her/his supervision are providing timely and efficient services, review tasks performed by staff under her/his supervision by avoiding incompatible jobs to her/his responsibilities.

Dimensions of the Role:

  • Supervise staffs under her/his supervision
  • Manage monthly and bi-monthly cash forecasts
  • Prepare monthly payroll and its reconciliations
  • Perform Bank reconciliations
  • Review financial process without compromising job segregation principle with her/his area of duties.

Accountabilities



  • Prepare and consolidate monthly cash forecasts and upload to BPC site
  • Update bi-monthly cash requirements/cash refreshment and upload to BPC site
  • Request cash status bi-monthly from finance coordinators of Program area as  a prerequisite to facilitate their cash transfers
  • Follow up on timely  cash transfers to Program area
  • Prepare Payroll, Reconcile it  and facilitate the deposits to their respective bank accounts
  • Prepare and distribute staff pay slips
  • Review International staff salary and benefits, and associated relevant supporting documents.
  • Request and collect audit confirmations for statutory audit from IH, NOs, local sources, partners, Banks, etc.
  • Review requisitions for Materials and services purchases
  • Review vehicle Rental Payments
  • Review Provident fund deposits
  • Review Staff Saving and Loan repayment summery for deposits
  • Review Income Tax Payments
  • Review Pensions contribution payments
  • Review Air Ticket payments
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliations
  • Review summery sheet for withholding tax to be paid to ERCA.
  • Ensure her/his subordinates are providing the required deliverables effectively, timely, accurately, etc.
  • Ensure all deliverables under her/his supervision are in compliance with Plan International Financial Policies and Procedures and the country’s financial Regulations.
  • Review for accuracy, completeness and compliance, tasks performed by her/his subordinates

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • B.A. degree in Accounting.  At least seven years of relevant experience with financial management

Desirable Knowledge

  • Working knowledge at NGO environment.
  • Good knowledge of influencing and negotiating with others.
  • Knowledge of accounting and Ethiopian tax laws
  • Good analytical skill and judgement

Skills Specific to the Post

  • Knowledge on computer applications; Excel, word, etc.
  • Good communication skills in writing and oral
  • Who can manage stress full working environment
